My name is David Best, and I teach K-5 classroom music at Christ Lutheran, in addition to directing the children’s choirs and children’s handbell choir.
I’m a near lifelong Peorian, and I grew up at Christ Lutheran Church and School. In 2006, I began attending Concordia University, Chicago, in the parish music program. While there, I met my wife Rebekah, who is the kindergarten teacher here at CLS. After serving as the music director of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Carol Stream for two years, our family moved to Peoria, where I began serving the church as the Adult Handbell Choir director in 2011, and Praise Band director in 2013. In 2017, I took over direction of the school music program, and am starting my third year.
I adore my family and love spending time with them! Rebekah and I have two children that are students here, Ethan and Hannah. I also have a full time third shift job at UnityPoint Health Methodist, where I serve as a supervisor in Environmental Services. In my spare time, I enjoy movies, playing the piano and singing, and getting to karate with the family when I can.
