Meet Your PrincipalTerry Mooney

Hello, my name is Terry Mooney, and I am the principal of Christ Lutheran School.  I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia, Nebraska, in 1978 and continued my Master’s Degree in Administration from Illinois State University. My wife Leslie and I were called to Christ Lutheran in 1987 and have raised our four children here. My son Terry is a principal at Peoria Heights Grade School and our coach of the boys basketball team; my daughter Jennifer is the 7th grade teacher and volleyball coach here at CLS; my daughter Rebecca will be our 5th grade homeroom/technology teacher this year, and my son David works in sales here in Peoria.  We have nine grandchildren and are blessed to have eight of them attending CLS!

In my spare time I love golfing and am an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Blues!

What a joy it has been to serve the Lord here at Christ Lutheran School!

Meet Your Title One TeacherTracy Buzzell

My name is Tracy Buzzell and I would like to welcome you to Christ Lutheran School and to our website. I have been teaching at CLS as a Title One teacher since 2007. I have two bachelor’s degrees, one from University of Iowa and one from Illinois State University. My husband, Tom, and I have two children, CJ and Logan, who both graduated from CLS. I love teaching at Christ Lutheran School because I get to serve the Lord by using my education. I only teach part time, allowing me to do some other things that I love, such as spending time with my family, working out, volunteering at CLS, and traveling.

Meet Your School SecretaryStephanie Belvery

I joined the staff of Christ Lutheran School in 2018 as the school secretary. I bring a wealth of experience gained over the years from a variety of jobs. I have been an office manager, a department manager at a large outdoor retailer and have served as an MP in the United States Army. My husband and I are members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Peoria, IL where I currently chair the church council.

I have three children who all attended Christ Lutheran School with my youngest child graduating in 2008. I am very proud of my children who all faithfully serve God in their vocations. My oldest grandchild attends Christ Lutheran Preschool where he loves learning about Jesus.

I enjoy working with the staff and students at Christ Lutheran, as well as our many parents and volunteers.

Meet Your Other School SecretaryCindy Martin

I have been volunteering and working at Christ Lutheran School for over 21 years. I started by working with Mr. Mooney in his office when my two sons started attending.  My sons graduated from Christ Lutheran School years ago, but I have continued to work in the office, first as a volunteer, then in a paid position as a secretary, office manager, and IT coordinator. One of my favorite volunteer jobs was being the statistician for the varsity volleyball team for 14 plus years.

Now I am semi-retired. I work part time when I am not traveling with my husband, Max. Our sons are both married, with families of their own. We have three grandchildren. Our favorite places to visit are where our children live. Those locations change because they both serve in the Navy, causing them to relocate periodically. We enjoy seeing more of the country as we travel to visit them.
