Hello, my name is Kay Bucher and I am looking forward to my third year at Christ Lutheran School in Second Grade. I believe we will have a fantastic year exploring Science, learning new Math, exploring God’s wonderful world around us, Reading about amazing places near and far, Writing creative stories, and learning to become the person God wants us to be through his Word.
I live on a farm in Washington where we raise chickens, pigs, and goats and have a large variety of other animals. My husband and I have 3 wonderful children, one boy and two girls ranging from college age to 6th grade. Together, we love to spend time together working with animals, camping, traveling, swimming and volunteering. I love to travel, read, cook and bake, play games, and explore new things and places/towns.
I am a graduate of Illinois State University with a Major in Elementary Education and a Minor in Early Childhood/Special Education. I also have 34 hours of post-graduate credits in Special Education and Reading from ICC and Illinois State University. I have always wanted to be a teacher and help children learn and grow and explore this amazing world we live in. I love and appreciate the “learning light” that appears in a child’s eyes as they learn something new. I also firmly believe that my students help me learn and grow every day. I am beyond grateful to God for the gift of children in my life, my own children AND my “family of students” each year.
