Welcome to Third Grade at Christ Lutheran School! My name is Mrs. Kelly. I have taught 3rd grade at CLS for 23 years and I look forward to each new year teaching children about God’s Word. I grew up in Iowa and graduated from The University of Iowa with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with Reading as my area of emphasis.
My family consists of my husband, Todd, who teaches music at Bradley University; my son Connor, who works for Bradley University in Los Angeles, running the Hollywood semester program for Music Business students; and my daughter Maren, who teaches first grade at Christ Lutheran School.
We have 2 adorable dogs, Binny and Pugsley. During my free time, I love to spend time with my family, read, sew, take the dogs for a walk, and attend fitness classes at the gym. I also enjoy teaching private piano lessons to children in my piano studio at home, as well as attending and watching Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball games…I bleed black and gold!
We attend church at Salem Lutheran Church, where I am active in serving communion, reading the lessons, and sewing items for various mission work,
I love teaching at CLS; it is a great place where I can share my love of learning and my faith with students.
