Dear Parents:
Tomorrow marks one week of school completed and the end of August. I believe we are off to a good start. The students are working hard to rid themselves of old bad habits that keep them from succeeding and developing good habits that they can take into high school and beyond! Please encourage your child to work on the following good habits:
1. Use the planner! This is one of the most important tools your child has. Writing down everything from gym clothes to homework assignments will help immensely.
2. Stay organized! This means filing papers in the correct folders and keeping a neat and organized desk.
3. Begin projects or lengthy assignments early. Daily work on a long term project will help the student achieve his/her best.
4. Arrive on time. So far this has been GREAT! Students who arrive early can prepare for their day without the rushing and stress of being late. Remember the 8th graders can be in the classroom at 7:45 a.m.
5. Utilize every open moment. Don't waste time. Students who work hard during the day usually have very little to take home.
Parents, please make sure you are checking Teacher Ease. I usually have the grades up that day or the next, so you can keep track of late or failing assignments. Thank you for all your involvement in your child's education. It makes a huge difference in his/her life!
Finally, a couple of reminders:
Fundraiser-please encourage your child to sell fundraiser. We receive so many great things from our PTL such as library books, technology updates, tournament entry fees, etc.
We have memory this Friday and each following. Your child was given a sheet of this month's memory.
Christian Education service is Sunday, September 25th. This is the service where the students are required to attend both services. Please mark your calendar.
Mid-terms are Sept. 26th. The AR goal at that point would be 50% and at least 80% comprehension.
If you have any questions either email me or contact me by phone (697-2514).
God's blessings to you and your family,
Mrs. Mooney
