Parents:
Can you believe it? We only have two weeks of school left. It seems like yesterday we were just beginning the year! I do have a few final reminders for the year.
1. Band and choir concert is Tuesday, May 18. All students in bells, band, and choir are expected to be there.
2. Thursday, May 20, is our AR reward trip to Summit's Edge. A permission form was sent home today.
3. Honor Roll trip to Starved Rock will be next Monday, May 24. Students that didn't make the honor roll at least 3/4 times must be in attendance at school.
4. Illinois Constitution Final- Wednesday, May 26, 2010. All students must pass with an 80%. Please encourage your child to begin studying with the flash cards I provided.
5. Picnic Day-We will have our annual picnic on this day also, beginning at lunch with a cookout and the much anticpated basketball tournament! For those who are not into sports we will have other games and activities. In order to participate in the picnic, all fines and fees, including book fines for damaged and lost books, must be paid.
6. Graduation is on Friday, May 28, 2010, at Christ Lutheran Church. I have sent a note home concerning dress and behavior expectations. If you have not sent in your reservations for the reception afterwards, please do so immediately. The students will wear robes provided by the church. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me.
FInally, I would like to congratulate my 8th graders who participated in track at the State track meet this last weekend. They represented CLS proudly!
As this will be my last newsletter, I would like to thank you for sharing your children with me. They are bright, creative young people with a heart for the Lord. It's been a great year, one that I will cherish. When you teach for so many years, it is fun and refreshing to get such terrific teenagers! You have done a great job laying the foundation for your children and I pray God will continue to lead them in His light.
Blessings,
Leslie Mooney
