Dear Parents :
Our first few days went very well! Everyone seems to be getting back in the swing of school. Here are a few highlights for this week:
1. Students should continue working on their vocabulary assignments for the Outsiders. We are finished with chapter 2 so the vocab should also be finished if they are budgeting their time wisely.
2. They have checked out books from the library and should be reading at least 30 minutes on most nights. Each student has been given an individual reading range and point goal. Everyone should be at 10% of his or her goal by Friday unless reading a larger book.
3. We begin music, p.e., art and computer this week. Please make sure your child has all necessary supplies for each class.
4. Mrs. Lamberti, the science teacher, has given the students a packet for the chapter. Encourage your child to budget his or her time and work on a little each day so as not to be overwhelmed in the end.
5. We have begun our annual fund raiser. Hopefully, your child is selling to family and friends. Our class goal is for everyone to sell 10 items!
6. Your child was given a memory sheet of prayers and verses which need to be memorized and written each Friday. Please encourage your child practice it at home so that he/she is prepared each Friday morning.
Finally, we have regular dismissal this week, beginning on Monday with 2:15 dismissal for teacher's meeting and 3:15 dismissal for the rest of the week. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me or stop by before 8:00 a.m. or after 3:20 p.m. Have a great week in the Lord!
