Welcome to the 6th grade!!!!
You finally made it to the "big kid" end of the hall! With this comes much added responsibility. So much is expected of you in and out of the classroom. So now that we are well into the summer, how can you prepare for this exciting adventure?
1. READ! I know some of you may not want to hear that but reading anything is very important. Not just books but magazines, current events, or even the newspaper. You should always know what the Cardinals are doing - it may benefit you!!!
2. LEARN TIME MANAGEMENT!!! This year you will have to learn to manage your time wisely. Waiting until the last minute may be a lot harder than it has in the past. You will do a lot of group work and this is when your maturity needs to kick in.
3. Set goals for yourself. Find one thing that you would like to improve, say perhaps it's organization. Start working on it now! Force yourself to stay organized, work on it every day and by the time school starts it will be a habit. You may need to work on becoming physcially fit-begin a program now, which means some of you will need to get off the couch! P.S. We do run in 6th grade!!!!
Now, for the boring stuff-when you begin shopping for school clothes, make my job and your life easier by sticking to the dress code. You are the examples in our school. Please refer to the dress code which can be obtained from the school office.
Finally, enjoy everyday of your summer. Thank God for all the blessings he gives us. I am already preparing for next year and am looking forward to having a great class!! I can't wait to see all of you in August.
