4th Grade ::

We pray your summer is wonderful. Here are some things you can be doing to make your year as a 4th grader successful.
Read library books. Visit your public library and enroll in the summer reading program. If the books you read are Acclerated Reader books, keep a list, and you'll be able to take tests on them once we get back to school. If you're not sure if they are AR books, click on the Acclelerated Reader link and check it out. In 4th grade AR is a separate grade on our report card, so you'll really want to stay on top of this.
Practice your Math facts. Work on addition, subtraction, and especially multiplication. You can use flash cards, write them out, get workbooks, or say them in the car as you go places with your family.
Play your recorder. You can be in band in 4th grade, and playing your recorder will give you a head start. We learned f, g, a, b, c, and d last year. A great resource to use at home is squeakysrecorderplayhouse.com . They have great information to review notes, fingering charts, rhythm, etc. on the tabs at the left. However, one of the really good tools is the Songbook. If you click that tab and then click on the "Printable Songbook" on that page, you can play the songs from the music on the computer or print them out and use them anywhere. Have fun!
Visit Lakeview Museum
Visit the "new" Glen Oak Zoo.
Check out the Peoria Park District activities.
Have a great summer. We look forward to seeing you in August!
