AR goals for the week are 44% for Fun Friday, and 23% for Sports eligibility with 85% accuracy. If your child's average percent correct is below 85%, books at a lower reading level need to be read to earn 100's and bring this up.
Reading and Spelling tests will be Friday.
There will be a Math test on Thursday. The pre-test will go home on Wednesday. Please sign this for an extra 10 points for your child.
Science projects are due on Tuesday, February 3rd. These can be seen at the Open House and will be a part of your child's science grade.
There will be a Music quiz on the strings on Friday.
Congratulations to Rae'Venn who has finished her 2nd sticker chart, Nathan who finished his 3rd, and Maren who finished her 4th! Congratulations also to Breonna and Juwan who have passed their 12's on their multiplication facts.
Star Spellers this week are Abigail, Maren, Dawson, Juwan and Nathan. Way to go!!
Student of the week this week is Alyssa, and next week will be Calvin.
Memory - we are continuing to memorize The First Article of the Apostle's Creed with its explanation as given in Luther's Small Catechism.
The First Article
I believe in God, The Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
What does this mean? I believe that God has made me and all creatures; that He has given me my body and soul, eyes, ears, and all my members, my reason and all my senses, and still takes care of them.
He also gives me clothing and shoes, food and drink, house and home, wife and children, land, animals, and all I have. He richly and daily provides me with all that I need to support this body and life.*****
He defends me against all danger and guards and protects me from all evil.
All this He does only out of fatherly divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in me. For all this it is my duty to thank and praise, serve and obey Him. This is most certainly true.
Remember the Open House this Thursday, and come visit our classroom. The children will have some special things for you to see.
