We need 78% of the AR goal to be on track with 85% accuracy, and 55% for Sports eligibility. If the average percent correct is lower than 85%, please read the books with your child. They should also check books out at the lower end of their reading range so they can earn some 100's on their AR tests. Remember, this year AR is a separate grade on the report card.
We have been blessed by God with some great weather lately. As the weather cools and children are wearing jackets to school, please make sure your child’s name is in the jacket so we can get them returned if they are left somewhere other than in the classroom.
We are working on the Old Testament books for Memory. They will need to say/sing the books from Genesis through Ecclesiastes on Thursday.
Science projects are due this Thursday. I hope the children had fun doing this project and learned something in the process.
There will be a Math test on Wednesday of this week over Chapter 2. The pre-test is going home on Tuesday. Please go over this with your child, and sign the pre-test for 10 extra points on the assignment. Take advantage of this!
Reading and Spelling tests will be Thursday this week.
On October 24th we will go on a field trip to the Von Behren's property near Glasford. We will leave school at 9:00 and return before 3:05. This is an outdoors trip where we will be fishing, canoeing, hiking, building bird houses, playing outdoor games, and having a wiener roast for lunch. There will be a $4.00 charge to cover the wood for the birdhouses and help defray the cost of lunch. The children should wear old clothes, jackets, and tennis shoes. We need parents or grandparents to help drive and help with the activities during the day.
