4th Grade ::

Dear Parents and Grandparents,
Thank you so much for sharing your children with us this year! We have enjoyed them, and it's been a great year with many special memories!
Congratulations to our Star Spellers: Logan, Isaiah, Kyler, and Devin! Our final spelling test was today. Congratulations also to Isaiah, Lilly, Matthew, Kaydem, and Kyler who have finished another sticker chart! Way to go!
Our school picnic is tomorrow, and casual clothes are fine, but the children need to wear tennis shoes (no sandals or flip flops). If you are joining us for lunch, please be here by 11:30.
There is no school Thursday, and Friday we dismiss at 12:00. Our closing Chapel will be at 8:30, and Awards Assembly will follow.
If you're looking for a day trip this summer to supplement what we've studied in Social Studies, I would reccommend these sights in Springfield: Lincoln's Home, the State Capital (old and new), Lincoln Herndon Law Offices, The Abraham Lincoln Museum, Lincoln's Tomb at Oakridge Cemetery, and the Dana Thomas House on Lawrence (a very interesting example of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture). You can also visit New Salem in Petersburg. Check before you go to see which sites are open as not all are open every day.
Be sure your children spend time reading every day this summer and practice math facts. The resources tab on the school website has many activities they can do online if you have internet access. All these activities will help prepare your child for 5th grade.
Have a blessed summer,
Mrs. Bremer and Mrs. Von Behren
