Dear Parents and Grandparents,
We pray you had a blessed Easter and special time with your children.
For AR we need 78% of our goal for Fun Friday, and 55% for recess and sports eligibility. We are also working for our special end of the year AR awards. These will be claculated on Monday, May 16th. Children need to have met 100% of their goal 3 out of the 4 grading periods to go on the AR field trip. This will be on Friday, May 20th, to the Riverplex. So far, the following have qualified: Logan, Autumn, Isaiah, Scott, Matthew, and Kyler. The following need to reach 100% this grading period to go on the trip: Apryl, TreaVion, Ronia, Luke, and Kaydem. Read, read, read!
Congratulations to Kelsey and Devin who have finished another sticker chart! Way to go!
We will not have Reading and Spelling tests this week because we are reading the novel, Little House on the Prairie. Please be sure your child is keeping up with all the daily work.
We are starting a special Illinois book in Social studies. Students will be responsible for notes each day.
We will continue working on memorizing the explanation to the 3rd Article of the Apostle's Creed. This will be due on Friday. I will listen to it out on our field trip if they haven't said it before that time.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
What does this mean? I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith.***In this Christian church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers. On the Last Day He will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to me and all believers in Christ. This is most certainly true.
We will have a Religion Test over Unit 8 on Monday, May 9th.
Our field trip to the Von Behren's is Friday. There is a slight change in the time we leave school because we have added a tour of the Glasford Grain Elevator at 9:00a.m. We need to leave school no later than 8:25 a.m. Lunch will be provided. Everyone needs to wear old clothes (including long pants) and tennis shoes. We will return to school before 3:05 p.m. Pray for good weather! Chaperones will be helping with building birdhouses, fishing, making ice cream, painting rocks, and games.
Have a blessed week!
