Dear Parents,

         We had a wonderful first week of school and I look forward to the rest of the weeks to come!  Please review through the papers that are included, initial/sign the Monday sheet in this folder, and return the folder on Tuesday (please do not return graded work).

         Last week we began the chapter book ChalkBox Kid.  This will take the place of our red reader this week.  We will complete it this week, and the final test will be the AR computer test (on Friday).  Please discuss the daily readings with your child.

          Today we took a spelling pre-test.  If your child passed it, they will not need to take the Friday test.  Please find the enclosed list to study.

         You should also notice the daily assignment sheet that comes home every day.  Your child should have filled it in completely so you know what homework needs to be completed.

Friday: Spelling test; Fun Friday; Book orders due (from yellow parent folder)
