Dear Parents,

         Last week we completed The ChalkBox Kid.  Please review through the packet, sign the grade sheet, and return the slip tomorrow morning.

         Please pay attention to the reading pages below---they should be read nightly.  It is not only a good idea for children to read silently, but also please listen to them read.  Please discuss the selection to check for understanding of the main ideas, characters, etc.  Every Thursday there is a vocabulary and comprehension quiz over the weekly story. 

         As a reminder, Accelerated Reader books and folders should come home every day.  Children should read every night and review through books before

taking their AR tests.

         Remember that you are able to access this letter, and many other resources, on the shool website: www.clspeoria.org (look under the 3^rd grade section).  New letters are posted every Friday afternoon.

         You can check on your child’s academic progress through the TeacherEase program, which is also on the school website.  Please ask if you have questions.
