Choir

Here is our Choir Schedule for the entire year.  Please mark your calendars.

Our musical is this Sunday at both services, and the children are doing a great job.  Please review their speaking parts with them at home this week.  The children should come in their costumes to church on Sunday.  They should be here by 7:30 to warm up.

 

We practice this Wednesday at the usual time and will finish shortly after 4:30p.m.  We also practice this Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.  These practices are very important, and every singer needs to be here.

 

After the musical Sunday, Youth Choir will be over for the year.  There is a scheduling conflict for some of the singers on the April date we were scheduled to sing, so we are cancelling that.  We will schedule a picnic on a Wednesday at a later date when the weather is a bit warmer.

Reminder:  Youth Choir will rehearse from 3:30-4:30 each Wednesday in March as we prepare for our Musical on Sunday, March 29th. Animals are due Wednesday, March 18th.

Dear Parents,

Our Comet Chorale travel choir has several upcoming dates for you to mark on your calendars.

Performance Day will take place in Music classes the first week in January beginning with Tuesday classes.  Children can prepare a hymn, praise song, or church Christmas carol to sing from memory or play a piece on their band instrument or recorder.  This will earn  25 extra credit points on their music grade for this quarter!

Remember all students in our school are participating at the Taste of CLS on Thursday, Dec. 4th, and need to be here by 6:15 p.m.  dressed in white shirts, black pants or skirts, dark socks, and school shoes.  This will be a very special Christmas program, and it will count as a double music grade for every student.  The children have been working very hard on their music.  See you there!

Our 3rd-5th grade choir sings this Sunday at the early service at St. Peters Lutheran Church in East Peoria.  This is just a small way we can thank them for the trememdous financial and volunteer support they provide for our school and your child's education.  Attendance is required and counts as a double music grade.  Children need to wear their black pants or skirts, white shirts, and school shoes.  They need to arrive by 7:40a.m. to warm up.

 

Directions:  Using the Cedar Street (Route 116) bridge stay in the left lane.  Exit toward East Peoria.  Just past the Kroger Store on the right, turn right at the light onto Washington Street.  At the third street on the right, turn right on Cole.  St. Peters will be on the right side of the street with the parking lots on the left. 

 

 

Youth Choir Notes

Dear Parents,

Next week CLS dismisses at 12:00 for Parent Teacher conferences.  We still plan to have Youth Choir at the usual time (3:35-4:10).  If you need aftercare before choir, you need to let Mary Ryan know before this Friday.  If your child cannot attend, I need to know by tomorrow.

Dear Parents,

            Each child at our school sings in a choir, and each choir is scheduled to sing in church at either Christ Lutheran or St. Peter’s on a Sunday morning three to four times a year.  Attendance on these Sundays is required and is a large part of the music grade for the quarter.  Please mark your calendars now for the dates your child sings and plan to attend worship with us.  We will also sing for Advent and Lenten Services during the school day, and would love to have you join us for those.  Check your Choir Schedule. Choir dress is black slacks and white (oxford for 6-8) shirts, school shoes and dark socks..
